Joey Beltran is an American bare-knuckle fighter and mixed martial artist. A professional mixed martial artist since 2007, he has competed for the UFC, Bellator, Strikeforce, and King of the Cage. He also competed in the Bare-Knuckle Fighting Championship where he was the former BKFC Heavyweight Champion. Joey is a phenomenal coach who has fought the likes of Stipe Miocic, Pat Berry, Matt Mitrione, Quentin "Rampage" Jackson, as well as knocking out Rolles Gracie and many other well-known legends in combat sports. He is a two-time UFC fight of the night winner as well as the 5150 Combat League Heavyweight Champion. Come to the Compound and train with the best.

Coach Kent McIntyre – 3rd Degree Black Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu
Coach Kent is one of The Compound’s most respected and accomplished grapplers. A 3rd Degree Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, he has built an impressive career filled with tournament victories and podium finishes across nearly every level of competition from youth and beginner divisions to advanced and professional brackets.
Beyond his own success, Kent has earned a reputation for developing standout athletes. He has coached and mentored fighters from amateur to professional, helping each sharpen their grappling IQ and expand their arsenal of techniques on the mat. Known for his balance of professionalism, reliability, and genuine care for his students, Kent creates an environment that challenges and inspires.
For more than a decade, he has been a cornerstone of The Compound family. His energy, experience, and innovative approach to grappling make every class better. To train under Coach McIntyre is to learn from one of the best.
Benjamin Smith is an incredibly experienced MMA coach specializing in Muay Thai at The Compound facility. With over 15 years of experience in MMA, he has developed extensive knowledge and skills in various combat disciplines. As the current Muay Thai coach, Smith brings a wealth of expertise to his training sessions, combining striking techniques from Muay Thai with the diverse skill set required for MMA competition. His background includes Jiu Jitsu, Grappling, Boxing, Wrestling and Last but not Least Muay Thai , allowing him to provide comprehensive instruction to his students.

Hector Araiza is an active fighter specializing in Muay Thai at The Compound facility, where he leads training for competitors across all skill levels. With over 15 years immersed in the world of mixed martial arts, Hector's coaching is rooted in deep experience as both a coach and an active competitor. He has expertly combined striking techniques from Muay Thai with essential skills from Jiu Jitsu, , Boxing, and Wrestling and strength and conditioning offering students a truly holistic approach to MMA training.At The Compound, Hector’s coaching style blends decades of proven technique with genuine mentorship. He’s dedicated to helping both new and experienced fighters develop their talent, improve their confidence, and unlock their full potential. With a background spanning Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu, Grappling, Boxing, Wrestling, and active MMA competition, Hector delivers comprehensive, fight-tested guidance every step of the way.

Chace Eskam
Chace Eskam is an all-state wrestler and high-level MMA athlete known for his pressure-heavy style, relentless pace, and strong finishing instincts. A standout heavyweight with a decorated high school and collegiate wrestling background, Chace brings elite takedowns, top control, and toughness to every practice and fight. As part of the Compound MMA team, he uses his experience to push teammates, mentor younger athletes, and represent the room with a blue-collar, no-quit mentality every time he steps on the mat or into the cage.

Quantal Langford
Head Wrestling Coach
Originally from Cleveland, Tennessee, Quantal Langford has been part of the Compound MMA for 4 years now as their wrestling coach. Quantal brings a wealth of knowledge as a coach and competitor. As a varsity high school wrestler he was a 3x Regional champ, 3x state qualifier, 2x state medalist and a state finalist. Wrestling at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Quantal was a 2x Conference Finalist, Conference Champ and Div 1 National Qualifier. As coach, Quantal assisted at Walker Valley High School, in TN, aiding multiple state placers and champions. Quantal also coached collegiately at NAIA power Campbellsville University in KY. Helping coach multiple All-Americans and National finalists.
Still competing and switching to other styles, he placed 3rd at a California Catch Wrestling Tournament and 1st in the Blue Belt Division at the Ross Miura No Gi Challenge. He is still training and looking to compete in the future events.
Aside from coaching, Quantal Langford runs a creative and digital media company called The Langford Studio consisting of multiple brands and creative properties under one roof. He’s also an inspirational speaker often speaking to his wrestling class after practices.
He is married to his wife of 17 years, Heather and has two sons and 4 grandchildren.

Tony Brown
Assistant Grappling Coach
Tony is the most positive down to earth team member and coach you will ever meet. He is straight forward, intelligent, and well versed in the grappling arts. Tony wrestled at Fresno State University and was an excellent high school wrestler from Vista, California. He has coached high school wrestling and college wrestling seminars as well. currently he teaches chemistry to college students and takedowns to the kid's and fighters as well. A purple belt in Jiu Jitsu and a 10-year coach of the Compound we are proud and lucky to have Coach Tony Brown.

Santiago Garcia
Assistant Wrestling Coach
Santiago is a young, excited Compound coach with a grinding freestyle, Folkstyle and Greco style of wrestling. Not one for an easy day Santiago is currently a star member and team captain of the Palomar College wrestling team. Helping with the kids and adults Santiago is our young gun!

Zane’s journey embodies what The Compound is all about growth, dedication, and full-circle achievement. Over 17 years ago, he started right here in The Compound’s Kid’s Classes, and today, he’s a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Black Belt, champion competitor, and gold medalist in numerous martial arts tournaments and fights.
Known for his technical precision, competitive mindset, and ability to connect with students of all levels, Coach Zane brings passion and experience to every session. From kids just starting out to amateur and professional athletes, Zane’s coaching focuses on building confidence, discipline, and skill helping each student become the best version of themselves.

Sarona Saint
Strength and Conditioning (S&C) is the selection and development of dynamic /static exercises used to improve physical performance. Whilst it originally benefited athletes it is now widely used in both the sporting world and more generally.
S&C is used to develop every area of the body and improve the way a person moves, with the intention of enhancing sporting or physical performance.
Research demonstrates that correct and appropriate training can improve physical performance. It also shows that incorrect and inappropriate training can be very detrimental to the way the body moves and performs, whether that’s in daily life eg walking the dog, or at hobby or sport.
Strength and Conditioning training involves a wide range of exercises developed to build a variety of skills with a focus on mind, mobility, stability, strength, endurance, power, speed, agility and performance.
Combines strength training, aerobic conditioning, speed and agility training, as well as sport-specific training.
Aims to improve strength and endurance, reduce the incidence and severity of sport injuries, and to improve technique and overall performance.
Beneficial for people of different ages and abilities eg can help older people maintain and improve their health and quality of life.
